Rob Petrone Explores The Arthur Avenue Retail Market
March 29, 2019: Fios 1

Arthur Avenue, named after President Chester A. Arthur, became home to Italian immigrants in the late 1800s to early 1900s who came to work in construction at the nearby Botanical Gardens and Bronx Zoo. Street venders sold on Arthur Avenue and eventually moved into the Arthur Avenue Retail Market in 1940. Mike’s Deli is the first stop where Mike Greco shows us how to make the perfect “Yankee Stadium” hero. Next stop is Cafe al Mercato where Rob tries the “upside down” Bolongnese pizza. For an inside look at the Arthur Ave Retail Market, watch the full video here.
