Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church presents The Feast of Saint Anthony. The Feast will take place Wednesday, June 8 – Sunday, June 12, and feature live music and entertainment, food, amusements, and rides. Additionally, devotions and blessing with Saint Anthony relic on Sunday, June 12 at 5pm, and a Mass in honor of Saint Anthony on Monday, June 13 at 12pm. Piazza di Belmont

In its third year and back by popular demand, Piazza di Belmont will return to Bronx Little Italy starting Friday, May 6 to Sunday, September 25, 2022 for weekend evening al fresco dining.
Arthur Ave will turn into a culinary oasis and be closed to vehicular traffic from East 186th St to Crescent Ave from 6pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3pm to 9pm on Sundays.
“The Belmont 4”, an acapella group, will visit restaurants during the opening weekend in May, as well as the last weekend of every month through September, Fridays and Saturdays 6:30pm – 8:30pm, and Sundays 4pm – 6pm. The group will sing doo-wop, hits from the 50’s through today, and take requests, as they stroll up and down the bustling streets. An accordionist in gondolier attire will be performing Italian favorites Fridays in May 6:30pm -8:30pm.
Arthur Avenue will be open for cars during the daytime on weekends to accommodate shoppers at Bronx Little Italy’s retail stores and outdoor dining will still be available.
Street Co-Naming Ceremony & Fair in Honor of Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu

A street co-naming ceremony and fair will be held on Crescent Ave at Arthur Ave in honor of Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu, Albanian Commander during the 15th Century, and to Celebrate Albanian Culture with a Festive Fair. The event will celebrate the neighborhood’s Albanian History, and connections with the Italian American community. The fair will feature Gruppo Folk Shqiponjat, an Arbereshe group of musicians and dancers in traditional clothing from Calabria, Italy, as well as Albanian food, activities for children, and much more. The street co-naming ceremony will take place at 2pm on the corner of Crescent Ave and Adams Pl.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Tonino Sementilli at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Saturday, December 4th at 10:30am.
Tonino Sementilli, owner of Amato Pharmacy, cared deeply about the welfare of our neighborhood. He was actively involved in local civil initiatives and was passionate about helping the youth of our community. Over the years he provided countless job opportunities and skill training to many of them. All who knew Tony knew he had a heart of gold, and he impacted so many people each and every day. Tony was a member of Sempre Avanti, whose mission is to provide support and resources to Italian individuals, businesses, organizations, and associations, both in the US and Italy.

The Belmont BID welcomes the return of the Holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony. Join us on Small Business Saturday, November 27 in Ciccarone Park from 4 -6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend, as we will be singing Christmas carols while eating Italian cookies and drinking hot chocolate. Children will also be able to meet Santa Claus and participate in a toy giveaway! The child must be present, and is first come, first served.
Italian Heritage Celebration
Join us in Bronx Little Italy to celebrate Italian heritage on Monday, October 11th. Enjoy live performances from “The Belmont 4” in D’Auria Murphy Triangle from 12-3pm and “Pane E Cioccolato” on East 186th Street from 1-4pm. As tribute to flight attendants and crew members killed in the September 11th attacks, former flight attendant Paul “Paulie” Venuto will push an Airline Beverage Cart from Boston Logan Airport to Ground Zero, NYC. The Belmont BID is honored to welcome Paulie as he makes a stop on Arthur Avenue as part of his 200-mile 20-day journey. With warm weather here and Piazza di Belmont, dedicated outdoor dining space on Arthur Avenue activated, the BID is delighted to welcome The Belmont 4 to the neighborhood! The group will sing doo-wop, Italian favorites, hits from the 50’s through today, and take requests, as they stroll up and down the streets of our historic district. The Belmont 4 will be in the neighborhood on the last two Fridays (6-8pm) and Saturdays (6:30-8:30pm) and Sundays (2-4pm) of every month Piazza di Belmont is activated, May-October. We’re so excited to have their cheerful presence and vocals add to Piazza di Belmont’s welcoming atmosphere.
