Ferragosto is a way to convene our customers and supporters in a festival-like atmosphere and share what we have to offer as an authentic Little Italy. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will be hosting Novena to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel on July 7th – 15th. On July 16th, there will be a Holy Mass in honor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, followed by a procession throughout the community, and a community gathering.

Arthur Avenue’s own “The Belmont 4” are set to return to the neighborhood to sing your favorite doo-wop tunes and classic hits! The acapella group will be strolling up and down our bustling streets and going in and out of local eateries to sing to visitors and guests. Catch them in the neighborhood 6:30-8:30pm 5/19, 5/20, 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24, 7/22, 8/19, 9/8, and 9/9.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church presents The Feast of Saint Anthony. The Feast will take place Wednesday, June 7 – Sunday, June 11, and feature live music, food, amusements, and rides. Join the community for a street co-naming ceremony on Hughes Ave at Crescent Ave honoring Michele “Mike” Greco, the legendary owner and chef of the famous Mike’s Deli located in the Arthur Avenue Retail Market. For over 60 years, Mike took pride in the deli and the quality and consistency of its products. Upon Mike’s passing in 2019, the neighborhood mourned the loss of a true patriarch and staple in our community. The co-named street will be a place his family, friends, and colleagues could visit and reflect on the remarkable life he lived and the achievements he made.

Celebrate Albanian traditions and culture, and enjoy entertainment, food, games, and much more at the 2nd Annual Skenderbeu Fair. The festival is in honor of Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu, an Albanian Commander during the 15th Century, and celebrates the strong relationship between Albanians and Italians pervades throughout our community.

Join us for a ceremony to celebrate the co-naming on Belmont Avenue at East 187th St in honor of Monsignor John A. Ruvo, pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for more than 24 years, and prolific member the Bronx Little Italy community. The renaming of the street will be a remembrance of a true leader and Bronxite who embodied the neighborhood’s immigrant spirit and embraced all into his parish with open arms.

They have been a great and supportive partner and the Belmont BID is honored to share these discounts for students & staff on behalf of our small businesses. The Holiday Season is a wonderful time to visit Bronx Little Italy! Dine at our delectable eateries, shop for gourmet Italian delicacies, and browse through a variety of gifts for everyone on your list. While you’re in the neighborhood under our dazzling holiday light displays, you’ll likely come across The Jolly Holidays, a victorian group, caroling in our eateries, and Santa spreading holiday cheer in our local small businesses. The Jolly Holidays will be in the neighborhood Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 6:30-830pm until 12/23. Santa will be in the neighborhood Friday 12/9 & 12/16 12-2pm, Saturday 12/10 & 12/17 1-3pm, Thursday 12/22 1-3pm and Friday 12/23 1-3pm.

During the 11am mass on Sunday, December 18th, a group from the Cathedral in Cosenza in the Calabria Region of Italy will gift Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church an icon of Madonna del Pilerio. Madonna del Pilerio is the patroness of the Cathedral; The Cathedral in Cosenza is celebrating its 800th anniversary!
