As tribute to flight attendants and crew members killed in the September 11th attacks, former flight attendant Paul “Paulie” Venuto will push an Airline Beverage Cart from Boston Logan Airport to Ground Zero, NYC. The Belmont BID is honored to welcome Paulie as he makes a stop on Arthur Avenue as part of his 200-mile 20-day journey. The Belmont BID plans to welcome back visitors and host Ferragosto in our world famous neighborhood on Sunday, September 12th from 12-6pm. Ferragosto is a way to convene our customers and supporters in a festival-like atmosphere and share what we have to offer as an authentic Little Italy. With warm weather here and Piazza di Belmont, dedicated outdoor dining space on Arthur Avenue activated, the BID is delighted to welcome The Belmont 4 to the neighborhood! The group will sing doo-wop, Italian favorites, hits from the 50’s through today, and take requests, as they stroll up and down the streets of our historic district. The Belmont 4 will be in the neighborhood on the last two Fridays (6-8pm) and Saturdays (6:30-8:30pm) and Sundays (2-4pm) of every month Piazza di Belmont is activated, May-October. We’re so excited to have their cheerful presence and vocals add to Piazza di Belmont’s welcoming atmosphere.

Bronx Little Italy is thrilled to welcome you back to Piazza di Belmont, the piazza-style al fresco dining plan. Beginning Friday, April 30th through the fall, Piazza di Belmont will welcome visitors back to our outdoor dining weekend plan on Arthur Avenue which will be closed to vehicular traffic from East 188th Street to Crescent Avenue from 6pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 1pm to 9pm on Sundays. The street is open to traffic and parking for shoppers during the day. Restaurants in Bronx Little Italy will also continue to provide daily outdoor dining as part of New York City’s Open Restaurant initiative.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church will host a variety of celebrations in honor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel from July 9th through July 18th. On Sunday, July 18th, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Feast Day will include a block party on Belmont Ave at East 187th St with food, entertainment, and games.

Tony Morante Book Signing
Tony Morante, former tour director and educator of the New York Yankees will be visiting Bronx Little Italy for book signings. On Saturday, June 26th from 12:30pm-3pm at Artuso Pastry Shop and on Saturday, July 10th from 12pm-2pm at the Arthur Avenue Retail Market. His book, Baseball The New York Game, How the National Pastime Paralleled US History, is available now. Proceeds to benefit The Bronx County Historical Society.
